How To Use The Catalog
This section describes how to use the catalog and also provides links into the major sections of the catalog.
Catalog Contents
The University of Northern Colorado HTML catalog is divided into 18 sections, a master table of contents, and an index. Each section in the catalog has a mini-table of contents or an alphabetical list that provide links to sub-sections within that section.
The major sections are:

Navigation Buttons
At the top-left of every catalog page are four navigation buttons. The buttons provide the following features:
•
.TOC – Displays the Master Table of Contents.
•
Scroll Back – The Scroll Back button pages back one page in the document. Because the HTML catalog uses the book metaphor, you can scroll through the HTML catalog just as you would scroll through a book. You should not confuse this with the Browser Back button. The Browser Back button displays the previous page, whether the previous page was displayed by using a hypertext jump, or using page scrolling.
•
Scroll Forward – The Forward Scroll button pages forward one page in the document (book).
•
Index – Displays the Index.
Breadcrumbs
At the top of ever catalog page, just below the navigation buttons is the breadcumbs line. Use the breadcrumbs to determine where you are in the catalog. The first portion of a breadcrumb displays the Section Title. For example, a breadcumb line may have the following information:
College of Humanities and Social Sciences : School of Communication : Communication Studies
You can click any part of the breadcrumb line, such as “College of Humanities and Social Sciences” to display that page.
