The Campus Recreation Center, with nearly 90,000 square feet of activity space, is a multi-purpose facility for the recreational and fitness needs of the students and employees at the University of Northern Colorado. The Campus Recreation Center offers formal and drop-in fitness, recreational sports and wellness programs. Large activity spaces are available for strength training and conditioning, as well as three multi-purpose gymnasiums with hardwood floors (featuring a total of six basketball courts), an indoor 1/10 mile jogging track, three racquetball courts, an indoor climbing wall, two group fitness and exercise rooms, locker rooms, and meeting spaces.Fitness Programs: Campus Recreation promotes healthy lifestyles and strives to make fitness opportunities available to each person, regardless of current fitness level or experience through Strength and Conditioning activities, Group Fitness classes and Personal Fitness Training services.Group Fitness: For those wanting a fitness experience, we offer 30-40 free drop-in classes per week with something for every fitness level. Group Fitness is offered in a variety of formats to accommodate a variety of fitness levels.Strength and Conditioning: More than 200 pieces of Life Fitness, Precot, StairMaster, Cybez and Reebok cardiovascular and weight equipment are available in our 7,000 square-foot strength and conditioning area.Personal Fitness Training: One-on-one instruction incorporates cardiovascular, strength and body composition assessments, goal setting and health education with challenging workouts designed for your specific needs. Workouts are supervised by a fitness trainer of your choice, who motivates you to achieve your fitness goals.Special Amenities: Facility amenities include racquetball courts, a climbing wall, and a swimming pool. The racquetball courts are also available for wallyball. The swimming pool is available for lap swim, water exercise and low-board diving during Recreation Center pool hours. The climbing wall is available for beginners to advanced climbers. Harnesses and belay devices are available for use at no charge.Intramural Sports: These sports provide opportunities for students and employees to compete against one another in various organized, safe, and friendly activities. Men’s, women’s, and coed divisions are offered in all sports.Club Sports are student-run and student funded organizations.
