Note(s): For licensure purposes, the Colorado Department of Education requires students to complete two field experience in an elementary and/or either middle or secondary school library.Students need to have completed the preparatory coursework prior to taking the comprehensive examination. In addition, the student’s advisor signature is required on the Permission form to take Written Comprehensive Examination, which verified that the student is cleared to take the comprehensive examination. Successful completion of the written comprehensive exam is required to complete the Master of Arts program.
Students wishing to obtain Colorado licensure in this area are required to pass the required state proficiency examination. Endorsements are granted by the Colorado Department of Education upon the recommendation of the UNC Licensure Officer. Students should contact the School of Teacher Education in McKee 216 for licensure information. All coursework completed will be accessed by the UNC Licensure Officer prior to licensure acceptance.
