All students in the program must take an assessment examination before graduation.
It is recommended that students consider electives in public speaking (COMM 100/COMM 103) and for those students planning to go to graduate school, a foreign language (GER 100 or GER 101 and GER 102).
Graduate level CHEM courses are recommended for juniors and seniors. Other recommended electives include MATH 132, MATH 221, MATH 335, STAT 150, PHYS 321 and PHYS 343.
Students majoring in chemistry must earn a grade of "C" or better in all courses having a CHEM and CHED prefix which count toward the major. At least a 2.7 overall GPA is required for graduation.
Juniors and seniors are expected to participate in the Department's undergraduate research program.
Students wishing to participate in the Honors Program should consult their advisors about general education selections and other requirements.
It is recommended that students have a fundamental background in computers.
